At Whole Health Nutrition, we work with individuals and families of all ages to promote a supportive and healthy relationship with food.
Types of clients we work with may have disordered eating practices, Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).
While symptoms often vary across eating disorders, below are some potential warning signs.
Behavioral:
- Frequent thoughts about food and dieting 
- Refusal to eat certain foods or food groups (carbohydrates, fats etc.) 
- Purposefully skipping meals and/or restricting portions 
- Uncomfortable eating around others 
- Preoccupied with weight and extreme fear of weight gain 
- Frequent checking of body in the mirror 
- Food rituals (ex- taking small bites, arranging food in a certain way, not allowing foods to touch, checking portion sizes multiple times, only eating at specified times or places, eating very quickly or slowly) 
- Frequently eating past the point of being full and feeling unable to stop 
Physical:
- Noticeable weight fluctuations, both up and/or down 
- Difficulty concentrating 
- Frequently feeling light-headed, especially upon standing 
- Low energy 
- Irregular or absent menstrual cycles 
- Gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, stomach cramps, and acid reflux 
- Difficulty sleeping 
- Muscle weakness 
- Frequently feeling cold 
- Dry skin, hair, and brittle nails 
- Dental problems
