Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions?

  • What should I expect during an initial session?

The initial session is where we get to know about you and your health goals. We gather information such as diet and medical history, physical symptoms, current eating and exercise habits, and relationship with food. After a thorough nutrition assessment, we provide education and begin to formulate a plan that combines our findings with your individual goals. Our approaches are highly personalized and designed to promote sustainable diet and lifestyle changes.

  •  Do you provide meal plans?

Yes! Although optional, if a client feels that a meal plan will be most helpful, we can create one that accommodates their preferences and individual needs. Meal plans can be adjusted and updated as needed. It is also important to note that while meal plans can be a helpful start, our main goal is to facilitate long-term wellness through sustainable diet and behavior changes.

  • What types of conditions do you work with?

Among a variety of conditions we work with, some include:

  • How do I know if my insurance will cover visits?

Good news! Most insurance plans will cover a minimum of 3 sessions and are sometimes unlimited. In order to check your coverage, all you have to do is call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask if they cover nutrition counseling. You can check out our insurance coverage info here

  • How often will I see my dietitian?

This will likely be something you and your dietitian decide on together. Depending on your nutrition plan, it is sometimes beneficial to meet more regularly at first (weekly, biweekly etc) and to decrease session frequency as goals are met.

  • Do I have to keep a food journal when working with a dietitian?

While not mandatory, food journals can be a great way for us to assess your nutrient intake and eating habits. They can also be helpful when treating certain symptoms and conditions. Together you and your dietitian will decide if keeping a food journal is the right route.

  • Can I meet with a dietitian even if I don’t have a medical concern?

Absolutely! Regardless of medical history, we are happy to work with anyone with a health related goal (even if that goal is to maintain your health)!

  • Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes! We offer both in-person and Telehealth appointments. Telehealth is extremely convenient, user-friendly, and makes it easy to stay supported and engaged in your healthcare. All you need is a smartphone or computer with a webcam and we will send a link to follow for your scheduled visit- it’s that easy!

  • Will I feel like I am being judged about what I eat?

Absolutely NOT! We are not the food police and we are not here to judge or shame you. Our job is to help you achieve your health goals while still enjoying the foods you love.
